Choc hazelnut puffs

This is a fantastic recipe to make with the kids this weekend.  ALDI sell both Nutella and their own brand choc hazelnut spread so the choice is yours.  Not much difference between them in my opinion.

Adjust the amount of spread to suit your families taste as maybe some of these pictured below have a tad too much chocolate in them, if that is possible??

CHOC HAZELNUT PUFFS (makes 12)

  • 3 sheets puff pastry (partly thawed)
  • ½ cup chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 1 egg, beaten (optional)

Step 1 - Preheat oven to 200 °C.  Line a large oven tray with baking paper.  Set aside.

Step 2 - Lay out the sheets of puff pastry & allow to thaw slightly.  Cut each sheet into 4 equal squares.

Step 3 - Place a spoon of chocolate spread into the centre of each square & fold up to form a little parcel.

Step 4 - Place on baking tray & brush with egg.

Step 5 - Bake in preheated oven for 12 mins or until golden.

Tips:  You can also cut the pastry into triangles & roll up to look like a croissant.
