Make your own hamburgers

Why spend money on hamburgers for the family when you can make an even better one at home!!

ALDI sell turkish rolls which are perfect for a massive hamburger and they go perfectly with with a side of their frozen beer battered chips (cooked of course!!).

If you want to save time, make & cook the hamburger patties earlier in the day & just reheat them at dinner :)

Enjoy, Amanda

HAMBURGER WITH THE WORKS

  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tbspn tomato paste
  • ½ Tbspn worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbspn sweet chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • spray oil

Serving: breadrolls, tomato,  cheese,  lettuce, bacon egg, pineapple, sauce etc.

In a large bowl, add all burger ingredients & mix  together with your hands.  Form into meatballs then flatten into patties.

Spray a large frypan with oil.  Over medium to high heat, cook hamburgers for a few mins on each side or until cooked through.  Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the patties. Alternatively, cook on the barbeque.

Once cooked, transfer patties to a plate, cover & refrigerate until required.

Reheat hamburgers in the microwave.

Serve on a fresh breadroll with your preferred hamburger filling.
